Last opus of my serial inventories, "Altars of the Americas" documents a tradition of the Italian community in the United States: affixing in front of its house one or more religious statuettes... Virgin, Christ, St Francis of Assisi, San Gennaro,... adorn the gardens and doorsteps… Devotion, paganism, superstition, or simply testament to their Catholic origin…
This series is a follow-up to the subject “Particular altars” produced a year earlier in Sicily.
